Recently I've been thinking that maybe photo isn't my thing anymore. I was set on getting my
BFA in Photography from MCAD, buuuut I don't know if I really see myself having a lot of passion for it anymore. I wish there was an "embroider cute little people" major..or I especially
wish that MCAD had Fibers. Part of me just wants to switch over to the University of Minnesota and get a BFA in art in general, and minor in French (which if you haven't noticed already, I absolutely adore). I just want to be an elementary art teacher, and sell my personal work over the summer, so I really could major in anything. Oohhh the possibilities!

If you want to be an elementary art teacher, it may be good to have a concentration in education for the street cred...if you do U of MN, you could do a whole lot of things: lots of art, psychology, education classes, French, and perhaps do an MFA...I know that's a whole lot of school, but that may be the best thing to get you where you want to be. Also, there's lots of French immersion schools in MN (Etoile d'Nord, a magnet school in St Paul, plus others) so that'd be a cool way to put everything together!

I know how you feel. I went to the NYC School of Visual Arts and changed my major each year! I went from illustration to film/video to advertising (the worst!) and ended up with a degree in graphic design. Hated working in that field and got into fashion design. I did that for 12 yrs until I birthed my girls and quit to stay home with them. Now I am the happiest ever, get to do whatever strikes my fancy. School was useless except for the fact that I met my husband, an amazing illustrator there. Follow your passions, not the rules.
